Placing a premium on reliability, dependability and understanding
of the game, four years ago, Coach Randolph extended an assistant
coaching opportunity to former Chattanooga State softball player
Jamie Qualls.
Coach Qualls played for two years at Chattanooga State and in her
sophomore year was recognized for her leadership and was named
co-captain of the team. Known as a consummate team player she
earned TJCCAA All Academic honors in both her freshman and sophomore
years.
Prior to her Chattanooga State Tiger days, Qualls began playing on
the summer circuit with the nationally known Parker Eagles. As
a catcher/outfielder of her high school team, Lakeview-Fort
Oglethorpe, she was a 4-time recipient of the “Who’s Who in Sports”
and three times recognized as an “NFCA All American Scholar”
athlete. Honored as a North Georgia “Player of the Week” Coach
Qualls was also a member of the “North Georgia Softball Team.”
For the past five years Jamie Qualls has been a key instructor in
the KFA Softball Academy. She teaches all aspects of the game,
specializing in catching, hitting, fielding and team training.
“Jamie is one of the best teachers of the game and understands what
it takes to train players of all ages. She is fundamental,
direct, confident and passionate,” Coach Randolph added.
Coach Qualls brings her experiential abilities in teaching and her
prior playing qualities to enhance her coaching attributes. As
first base coach, she also assists with all fundamentals of the game
and is counted on to give her perspective in all game/practice
procedures. Having been coached and taught by Coach Randolph,
Qualls understands the importance of the total team concept and
excels in representing this model of action.
Jamie’s husband, Charley, played baseball at Chattanooga State.
They have a beautiful 2-year-old daughter, Chloe.
